Saffron is is a spice derived from the flower of Crocus sativus, commonly known as the "saffron crocus".
Yalda offers some of the best saffron from Khorasan. Khorasan enjoys a dry and fresh climate and soil with clay and fine sand, which create an ideal environment for growing crocus flowers. Yalda sources saffron directly from traditional farmers, offering an excellent product at an accessible price.
How to recognize the quality of Yalda saffron? It is made only of the tip of the crocus flowers threads, which concentrate the unique flavour ("Sargol" cut). Such a cut requires very delicate work by hand, but offers the best quality. An easy way to find the quality is a complete deep red colour with no yellowish.
